Debt Collections: Applying what you learned in your early education
Robert Fulghum’s “All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten” explores the essential life lessons learned at the early stages of human development. Simple things like learning to listen, sharing, playing fair, using kind words, being respectful, encouraging creativity are (or should be) a part of our everyday lives both at home and at work.
The Collections Industry doesn’t get a pass card when it comes to basic common courtesy. In fact, what we’ve learned at C2C Resources is that the common courtesies outlined in Fulghum’s book are essential to successful commercial debt collections. When collecting on a debt, listening, playing fair and being respectful through the process is far more likely to lead to debt resolution. We all respond best to these and other basic Kindergarten principles.
